Job Summary: This position is responsible for basic item placement and replenishment supporting 100+ stores that drive 25-30% of total apparel and gift business. Supports the merchandising team by managing store inventory and making decisions to ensure inventory levels are sufficient to support financial objectives. Maximize basic merchandising category profitability by optimizing inventory supply to meet customer demand and financial objectives that result in minimizing out of stocks. Job Responsibilities: 1. Performs weekly analysis of sales and inventory position of Key basic Items for a predetermined group of stores. 2. Executes reorder quantities based on various analysis of inventory need and assumptions while maintaining inventory balance down to the size level. 3. Establishes and reviews Evant item plans for designated stores for key items to insure sales and inventory are aligned with sales plans. 4. Analyzes data for various items such as diploma frames, backpacks and imprinted supplies for all stores based on inventory need and merchandising direction and place reorders that support merchandise strategies. 5. Supports new initiatives arising from the General Merchandising Teams needs related to large scope projects and or assignments such as placing seasonal buys for key items that are not included as part of their daily tasks and or responsibilities. 6. Performs Size Analysis by sub department for designated locations to be used when initiating re-orders for key items. 7. Works closely with merchandising team to analyze current basic model stocks and allocate merchandise to drive sales and profit. 8. Seasonally evaluates vendor sales performance and vendor size selling by sub department and forward analysis and recommendations to Upper Management and Product Managers. 9. Acts as a positive, proactive communication resource link to merchandise team and the vendor community by providing purchase orders to vendors in a timely manner, communicating delivery expectations to all vendors and ensuring vendor compliance with timely shipment of purchase orders. Requirements:Job Requirements: 1. Bachelors degree in Business or related field required or similar experience 2. One to three years of merchandising in specialty or big box retailing 3. Strong analytical ability to gather information, to interpret findings and make recommendations 4. The ability to prioritize multiple projects or various degrees of difficulty to meet deadlines 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 6. Intermediate to advanced computer skills for Microsoft Office specifically in Excel with ability to learn additional merchandising systems. 7. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment 8. Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and adapt to a dynamic work environment 9.
